At Saxun, we firmly believe that well-designed spaces can transform the way people learn, work and interact. That is why participating in the renovation of the IES Cotes Baixes secondary school in Alcoi has been much more than just a project: it has been an opportunity to actively contribute to the future of education.
This centre, recognised as a Centre of Excellence for Vocational Training by the Ministry of Education, has undergone an ambitious transformation that has redefined its architecture and functionality, opening up new classrooms, corridors and common areas designed for well-being, light and creativity.
Our contribution to this project has been the installation of V-50 louvers in the connection between the main hall and the outdoor sports areas, and V-90 louvers with integrated LED lighting in the entrance portico to the building. Both solutions have been manufactured in RAL 9006 and Silver Grat finishes, combining aesthetics, solar protection and energy efficiency.
Thanks to these installations, effective control of natural light has been achieved, reducing the impact of direct sunlight without compromising on brightness or thermal comfort. This is a clear example of how our solutions enable the creation of healthy, efficient and emotionally stimulating environments, in line with new educational models.
During our visit to the centre, the director of the IES, Fernando Sansaloni, emphasised that this project goes beyond a simple renovation; "it is about building a space that motivates, protects and inspires." He added that this project is the result of many years of collective work. "Of believing that education can be a real driver of change if we are able to connect knowledge, technology and people."
