Committed to the 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals

We participated in the SDG Action Plan organised by the Alicante Chamber of Commerce

Committed to the 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals
We live in a wonderful country, and it is our responsibility to care for and protect it. Sustainability policies applied to companies are essential in order to grow while respecting the environment that surrounds us.

The evolution of our company is linked to the improvement of our habits and processes as a company, respecting the environment. There are initiatives that help us and lead us to continue to grow, with respect for the environment, such as the 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

In 2015, the UN adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, an opportunity for countries and their societies to embark on a new path to improve the lives of all, leaving no one behind, with "a UN blueprint for a happier and healthier world by 2030".

The Agenda has 17 Sustainable Development Goals, ranging from the elimination of poverty to combating climate change, education, women's equality, environmental protection and our cities’ design.

We have recently participated in the Action and Improvement Programme of the SDG Action Plan organised by the Alicante Chamber of Commerce, and with the collaboration of the Chambers of Commerce of the Valencian Community and the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition.

The aim of this programme has been to inform, raise awareness and train companies on sustainability policies, as well as to adopt business strategies committed to the 2030 Agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

GOALS

This programme covers and elaborates on Goals 6, 7, 9, 12 and 13.
Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation works to ensure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.

Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy aims to ensure access to affordable, secure, sustainable, and modern energy. In this vein, in September we doubled our commitment to solar energy with a second photovoltaic energy installation at our central facilities in the El Castillo Industrial Estate in Sax.
There are 754 new solar panels, complementing the first installation of another 783 modules, with which we have been working for a whole year.
This second commitment to solar and sustainable energy allows us to reduce our carbon footprint by 20% and avoids the emission of 250 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere.

Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure promotes actions aimed at building resilient infrastructure, promoting sustainable industrialisation, and fostering innovation. We work on the continuous improvement of processes, in the production of our solutions and in their processes, such as with the implementation of the LEAN methodology.

Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production focuses on ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns.

Goal 13: Climate Action aims to take urgent action to combat climate change and its effects, a challenge for the whole of society.

This programme has emphasised the role and responsibility of companies, as social entities, in achieving these objectives.

A total of 55 companies from the Valencian Community took part, 15 of which belonged to the Alicante Chamber of Commerce.

The vice-president of the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of Alicante, Eva Miñano, and the general director of Climate Change, Celsa Monrós, travelled to the facilities of the Chamber of Commerce of Alicante to hand over the accreditation diplomas to the companies of the province of Alicante that participated in the Action and Improvement Programme of the ODS-SME Action Plan.
