Natural light is crucial for our wellbeing. Making the most of the sun's rays and the amount of light they provide us with in places like the Spanish Levante is a luxury at our disposal that we cannot afford to miss out on.
As well as providing physical and emotional wellbeing, it offers greater energy efficiency, reducing the use of artificial lighting and reducing energy consumption.
The important thing to make the most of this advantage is the correct management of solar incidence and the entry of light. To do this, it is essential to have the right enclosure and solar protection solutions.
An example of this is the latest project by the architect Antonio Quiñonero Martínez, who has designed a functional residential complex, with hybrid spaces, "very connected with the exterior, without physical or visual barriers", to enjoy the more than 300 days of sunshine that Murcia offers.
To this end, the home has been designed with large openings, large windows, "always well protected by means of shading systems". For this, Quiñonero has opted for several of our solutions, "automated blinds in the night areas, where more privacy is required, and also automated roller blinds in the day areas, to filter the light and regulate the temperature".
The fabric has also been carefully chosen, in terms of colour and permeability, "with a 1% screen, because it allows the necessary light to pass through, without sacrificing it, but with the privacy you need at certain times".
Shutters, a classic
For utility and tradition "in Spain it is unthinkable to build a home without blinds, especially in rooms such as bedrooms", a solution highly valued by the client because it provides "a greater sense of security". To gain in energy efficiency, in this case it has been decided to install several compact motorised Eurostand 155 model, with Alugix-42 slats, "insulated to avoid thermal bridges, which works perfectly".
Exterior in tune
For exterior solar protection, in addition to the vegetation, it was decided to shade the space with a large square Besta XL parasol, "a plus because in addition to solar protection, it is totally integrated into the project", as a similar shade has been chosen to the rest of the elements of the building, in the colour Perla.

Tailor-made
Both the aluminium profiles and the fabrics are perfectly integrated into the project, and this is achieved with customised production, "small details that make the difference", as the architect emphasises.
Prescription
The digitalisation of construction solutions, through BIM files, as well as regulatory changes in the Technical Building Code, has made it possible to standardise the prescription of solar control solutions in architectural projects.
As Quiñonero points out, "we try to ensure that the projects are closed from the start, because anything that we want to incorporate later requires more effort".
An example of efficient, healthy and sustainable housing that embraces natural light.
