Saxun blinds: promoting well-being

So-called ‘third spaces’ are environments designed for socialising, relaxing and enjoying time together as a community. To achieve this, they need to be fitted out with solutions that combine versatility, well-being and aesthetic appeal.

A prime example of this is the new Clubroom at the David Lloyd Sports Centre in Boadilla del Monte (Madrid), a design that redefines the use of communal areas thanks to the installation of sun protection solutions – in this case, our R4 louvres in various models.

A hybrid and connected space

To achieve this effect, Juan’s Arvo Arquitectura studio, in collaboration with MBO Arquitectura, has opted for an enveloping design that makes use of our sun protection solutions, which have become the true focal points of the space.

The entire perimeter of the sports centre’s entrance and reception area has been clad with R4-300 fixed louvres, installed at a 45° angle to add character and functionality to the space.

Once inside the hall, the design continues with a layout featuring fixed R4-200 louvres set at a 90° angle, which open out onto the exterior. In this case, the slats regulate the amount of natural light entering the space and lend a refined aesthetic to the entire room, from the hall right through to the terrace area.

The large terrace features a system of motorised R4-300 louvres, which acts as a large pergola with adjustable slats. These can be opened, tilted or closed independently, with the system divided into zones to adapt to current requirements.

A large outdoor structure that effectively shields users from the sun, light and other adverse weather conditions, allowing them to make the most of these outdoor areas, including the terrace and leisure zone. This large "pergola" is topped with fixed R4-300 louvres, set at a 45° angle.

All the slats and the metal framework are finished in RAL 7011 iron grey, which lends visual coherence to the whole structure, aligning with the identity of the David Lloyd Sports Centres chain and reinforcing the architectural continuity between the interior and exterior.

Saxun solutions that combine technical design with emotional well-being, creating spaces that enhance the user experience.
