The project was intended to maintain a connection with the landscape whilst creating a serene, comfortable interior capable of adapting to every moment of the day.
To achieve this desired visual comfort, the decision was made to fit the windows with Saxun roller blinds, made from Screen Artemis 5% technical fabric in off-white (5902). This combination is perfect for open-plan spaces where you want to enjoy plenty of natural light whilst maintaining the view outside.
In this project, the interior designer’s proposal combines roller blinds with traditional white fabric curtains. This layering adds depth, movement and warmth to a décor dominated by natural tones and a Mediterranean-inspired aesthetic.
During the day, the Screen fabric filters out solar radiation without blocking the view of the landscape. When a more intimate atmosphere or subdued lighting is desired, the fabric curtain is drawn over the blind to increase the level of shading.
The large living-dining room can thus be easily transformed. It can feel open and light-filled during the day, or take on a cosier atmosphere when it’s time to relax. It’s a simple way to adapt the space to different uses and get the most out of it.
The roller blinds feature Saxun’s CLS modular system, designed to discreetly integrate its components and achieve a clean, minimalist finish.
For larger windows, CLS central brackets allow several blinds to be fitted to a single mounting point. This solution reduces the gap between the fabrics, limits the amount of light entering through the central area and maintains a more continuous visual line.
Each blind retains its independent movement. This means that the sun protection can be adjusted for each window opening according to the orientation of the façade, the angle of the sun’s rays or the requirements at any given time.
The system features battery-powered, wireless motors, so it does not require any new electrical connections. Saxun roller blinds can be conveniently operated using a remote control and also feature a manual operation mechanism.
The motorised system allows you to adjust the amount of light entering the room with precision and prevents any visible elements from spoiling the clean, uncluttered look of the whole design. Technology seamlessly integrated to make everyday life more comfortable.
Artemis 5 % fabric combines fibreglass and PVC, a composition that ensures high dimensional stability. Its lightweight structure and slim profile allow for compact, uniform and precise rolling.
The neutral colour 5902 blends seamlessly into the project’s colour palette and helps to reduce glare on televisions, computers and other screens. The interior gains a sense of visual comfort without losing any brightness or disrupting the harmony of the materials.
Furthermore, in the back garden, the Saxun trellises act as a lightweight enclosure that defines the space without isolating it from its surroundings. Their vertical arrangement provides privacy, filters the sunlight and casts an ever-changing play of shadows throughout the day.
The warm-toned finish complements the house’s white architecture and enhances its Mediterranean character, transforming a passageway into a more sheltered, pleasant space that feels connected to the landscape.
The result is a warm, harmonious home that blends seamlessly with the landscape. A space capable of adapting to the light at any given moment through sun-shading solutions that are also an integral part of the design.
