An elegant arrangement of 32 P-150 bioclimatic pergolas has successfully revitalised the entrance to this hotel, creating a versatile, stylish space that can be enjoyed all year round.
There are spaces that mark a turning point. The refurbishment of the INNSIDE by Meliá Alicante Hotel is one such example where architecture, design and technology come together to completely transform a space.
The installation of 32 Saxun P-150 column-free bioclimatic pergolas has transformed the hotel’s entrance into a versatile, elegant outdoor space that can be enjoyed all year round.
What was once a thoroughfare is now a natural extension of the hotel, perfect for gatherings, moments of relaxation or outdoor events.
The project required a bespoke solution that would respect the existing structure and maintain access to the hotel, whilst also creating a new aesthetic identity.
Manufactured in textured RAL 9016, they feature perimeter LED lighting, creating a pleasant atmosphere both day and night.
The result is a space that extends the interior design outwards, blending seamlessly with the façade and the hotel’s natural colour scheme.
The pergolas were manufactured in four stages, whilst the installation was carried out in two stages, ensuring speed and efficiency throughout the process.
From a structural point of view, 180x150 mm double aluminium beams were used, together with column sections reinforced with stainless steel brackets for the joints. In addition, a drainage system was designed using longitudinal channels that collect water from all the pergolas and direct it towards downpipes at the ends.
The new installation makes the most of the hotel’s entrance, creating a space designed for a variety of experiences: from basking in the sun with ventilation and light control to hosting outdoor events or gatherings.
The integrated lighting allows the space to be used at night as well, transforming the hotel’s atmosphere and reinforcing its identity.
A project that demonstrates how a well-designed solution can revitalise a space, enhance its appearance and expand its potential uses.
